Algernon is a black Standardbred gelding, who was born in 2010. Algernon joined the KH fold in 2014, when he was not quite 4 years old. He has grown a lot since then, and is now a very solid boy. Standing at 15.2 hands high with a particularly broad chest.
Algernon is the most experienced of our horses though not our best educated, having participated in many demonstrations over the years. Parades, Skill at arms, Jousting, mounted archery, Kolbenturnier.
His education has progressed well over the years. He has a good understanding of lateral movements and has enthusiastically taken to Spanish walk. His canter has become more collected and balanced, which has allowed him to become more agile and efficient with his movement. He is very tolerant of historical equestrian equipment.
Having worked with diverse range of war saddles including an elevated saddle. He is quite comfortable with barding. We have some new pieces in production, watch this space.
