The skill at arms performance showcases both horse and riders’ expertise, with several weapons being utilised in an array of activities. Weapons include swords, javelins, daggers, lances and a mace.
Skill at arms can be demonstrated in either civilian clothing or full armour for extra difficulty. Most of the activities are performed with two or three riders abreast, which adds to the level of difficulty, but makes it even more interesting to watch.
A particularly popular attraction is the display of a mace on a watermelon, as show in the brief video by Inquisitive Images, taken at the 2022 SA Medieval Fair.
