14th Century German Splinted Harness

This harness is based on several German sources. Splinted vambraces, rerebraces and cuisses can be seen in many effigies and other sources. The couters are based on the effigy of Burchard Steinberg (1376). The poleyns are reproductions of those found on the effigy of Burkhardt Rezzo von Bächlingen (1360). The silk surcoat with gold dagging is based on Rudolf von Sachsenhausen (1370).

The gauntlets, greaves, arm and leg harness were made by Manning Imperial. The silk surcoat, barding, shield and modification to other parts of the harness were made by Chris Bahlo.
